With a transition into the spring season, remodeling trends are following a softer and more playful ambiance. The trend forecast from top interior designers lean towards butter yellow, mixed metals and fun prints.
Michelle Gage, founder of Michelle Gage Interiors especially foresees the rise in gingham. “While this print tends to come out for warmer seasons, it is truly a timeless staple that has serious staying power,” said Gage. “It plays well with other prints, too, and can be a wonderful layer.”
Hues of yellow are increasing in appearance, Corinne Back, the founder of Corinne Victoria Design notes it is perfect for clients who want to introduce pops of color. “It’s great for mudrooms, pantries, and secondary rooms for a punch of personality,” said Back.
Mixing metal hardware such as brass, gold and silver are also popular when remodeling in spring. “I’m noticing that people are becoming more open to experimenting, moving away from predictable choices and leaning into materials that add texture and visual interest to a space,” said Daniela Alilovic, the founder of Spaces by Dee.
